What?s happening at Old Yards?

Games
A disappointing playing start to the new year but we did get three teams out:
The 1st XV lost 16-6 at home to Veseyans
The 2nd XV lost away to Veseyans with you young inexperienced team putting up a good fight. Concern from the game was centre Adam "Strettle" Taylor being taken to hospital after a hard tackle. The good news is he was released from hospital the same night to go home. He is in good spirits and should be back playing in two weeks.
The 3rd XV lost to Aston's 3rds in a high scoring game. Man of the match Bobo scored a hatrick as well as playing most of the game at either centre or fullback!

Also on Saturday we had a VPs lunch that was well supported by our past players. It was good to see so many old faces enjoying themselves in the new extended bar.

HAPPY NEW YEAR TO ALL OLD YARDLEIANS EVERYWHERE
What a great New Year it was at the club with a fantastic New Year's Eve Party. Organised by Pat & Shannon with help from others it was a big success. If you were not there you missed a great bash. We need to make this an annual event again at the club.

SPONSORS
Have you asked the company you work for to sponsor Old Yardleians? Currently we need:
£5,000 to purchase shutters to protect the bar extension
£1,000 to purchase new flags and post protectors as well as repair the goal posts on the 2nd XV pitch
In return they get free local advertising and use of the club facilities for works parties, sports days, rugby/football matches and other social events

International Tickets
Those of you who applied for Six Nations tickets for the England home games will be pleased to know they have arrived. I will sort them out this week and contact you to make arrangements to get them to you. The away tickets should arrive soon. Remember you must not sell on these tickets. they are for your own personal use. If they end up on the black market the club will be in trouble with the RFU.

Holidays
Brian Hope returns from holiday this Friday

ANNUAL SUBS
62 players have now paid in full and a further 12 have part paid - Thank You. Let?s get any other outstanding subs paid in so I can leave my receipt book at home!  NO PAY NO PLAY will continue.

Finally, if you have any Old Yards news you want to put in our update please send it to me. This update is emailed out to club members most weeks. If you do not receive it please give me your email address.
