WATCHING THE LIONS AT PLAY

Sun, 23 Jun 2013 01:18

Well, I got the winners right but was slightly out with the actual winning margin. However, I have been given some expert advice about the forthcoming second test match between the sides. I was pleased to be in the company of a number of former Old Yards players in an establishment chosen by that famous scrum-half Jan Ullah, watching the match in the company of celebrity pundits. Names that are associated with rugby excellence such as Painter, Thorne, Lord Brown of Warwickshire, Jenkins and Nigel Hoof were present Most significantly, Tom Kilmartin, a man who fitted into many roles and who shot to fame on the club tour to Cork in the early 1990's was displaying his deep knowledge of the sport. Tom who now limits his sporting interests to country walks and ballroom dancing still likes to watch a bit of rugby and has given me his forecast for the second test. He is convinced that the Lions will win by a margin of 9 points, so lets wait and see.
