Summer Work Parties & Grants
•Old Yardleians have been successful in obtaining a total of £4,000.00 from the Natwest RugbyForce Programme to primarily refurbish the area outside of the changing rooms. The Committee have expressed their thanks to both Tom Power & Mike Neary in their efforts in securing this funding. •However, the bulk of this work has to largely be carried out the weekend of 15th/16th June 2013. It will also be necessary to carry out preparatory work prior to the 15th for ground clearance, digging of drain trenches etc, the bulk of this work to be done on the “work party” weekend of the 8th/9th June. •Therefore we need work parties on two weekends: ?8th / 9th June ?15th / 16th Jun ?Please make yourself available for at least part of this time to help. It is our club so lets make the best of it ?More details will come out closer to the time but for now put it in your diary.

 UNDER 17 SOCIAL EVENING
Friday 7th June at the club is a gathering for our Under 17 team, their parents and the team officials. As well as the chance to have a drink and a chat, there will be aa mini quiz, some music organised by Nick Perrin, and a curry which has been prepared by a popular local chef. All for the bargain price of £6. There will also be a special presentation by BMW to one of our players. Doors open from 7.30 ish.

 MARTIN ROY STONE
Dave Collen brings us some sad news about the recent death of Martin who was a player for our club in the 1960s. Martin was a robust number 8 and was an old boy of Yardley Grammar School. He was a very popular member of the club and will be missed. May he rest in peace.

 A MESSAGE FROM THE PRESIDENT.
Mr Steve Painter (Dip FD) would like to thank the club members for the tankard presented to him at the recent club dinner. I have heard the rumour that if anyone sees him in The Fieldhouse and says to him 'Steve, you're a great player as well as a great President 'it is highly probable that he will get you a drink.

MARK BALDWIN
Mark, I appreciate the work you do for the club as a highly effective administrator, occasional referee and as a player. I don't care what the other blokes say I think you are worth your weight in gold (if there is that much gold). Well done and thanks.
