Old Yardleians RFC: Club News

Many a good tune played on an old fiddle!

On Sunday 7th April at a sunny Kings Norton the Vandals contributed not one but ten players to the Greater Birmingham Vets squad in their game against Hereford & Worcester Vets, and at one point we had nine of our players on the park. The entertaining game ended 34-29 in GB's favour. Despite having to be cut out of their "player fit" shirts by the emergency services & sustaining the odd minor bump & scratch on the now very hard & dusty turf all survived to tell the tale. We even managed to contribute to the score with a try from evergreen Fitz & some conversions from Dave McGill. And for a change Old Yards & Camp Hill players managed to do some damage to others rather than each other. The rest of the squad were Phil & Ali Gouldbourn, Nick Palmer, Nick Levey, Phil Evans, Chris Rowe, Marcus Hope & John Lonie.
